How to Transition Your Skincare Routine from Summer to Fall
The cool-weather months are upon us. Time to dig out your favorite sweaters, booties and comfy-cozy layers. Just as you transition your wardrobe, it’s essential to refresh your daily wash + moisturize routine. Many of us neglect this step (guilty!) because it’s another “to-do” on our ever-growing list. However, you should make a point to switch up what you use and how often you use it with every change in season to help minimize signs of aging. Here are a few tips that your skin will thank you for later.
Hydration Is Key
With moisturizer, we shouldn’t rely on the same formula to work wonders all year round because, well, that’s just not a reasonable ask. As cooler temps roll in, our skin inevitably becomes drier and a thicker lotion or cream is necessary. Ladies with oily or combo skin – yes, we’re talking to you – don’t skip this step. Wearing a good face cream slows oil production and increases hydration. Also, just because the temps are dropping doesn’t mean you can skimp in the SPF department – you still need protection.
Pamper That Pout
If you don’t already obsessively apply lip balm (oh, is that just us?), you should give your pretty pout some extra TLC over the next couple months. Try incorporating weekly lip treatments using a gentle scrub to rid your lips of dead and dry skin cells. You can make your own concoction with coconut oil, honey and sugar, after applying a moisturizing balm to lock in moisture. Also, don’t forget to consume enough H20 because sometimes that’s the culprit of dry lips.
Exfoliate on the Regular
Combat dry skin and uneven skin tone from your summer tan by exfoliating on a regular basis. This will help slough off dead skin to reveal a fresh face for soaking up the nourishing ingredients from the rest of your skincare products.
Skin Rejuvenation Starts with BBL
Reverse the damage your skin endured over the summer months with BroadBand Light Therapy (BBL). Say goodbye to months of sun exposure with a BBL treatment to help reduce the appearance of age spots, brown spots and uneven skin texture. How it works? The intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy heats the upper layers of your skin, stimulating skin cells to regenerate new collagen for younger-looking skin that’s firmer and more even in tone and texture. Did we mention this is a no-surgery, minimal recovery time treatment? See for yourself in our before & after photos.
